Team Pizza Party

A celebration of accomplishments. We celebrated all the hard work we did over the very long and snowy winter. The whole team moved up at least one level, some skaters moved up 2 or 3 levels. As we enter our new competitive season it was important to acknowledge the hard work, build on our team work, and learn about gratitude. Each skater received a Gratitude Journal and we participated in a kindness exercise. Each skater wrote compliments under each other’s names. And we talked about how finding the good in each day will help us to stay positive as we grow and move forward in our lives. How when you are having a very bad day you can turn it around by reflecting on the one positive thing.

Practicing Gratitude is a life lesson that I hope to pass along to each of my skaters. It can help them cope with the hard times in life and can fill their lives with happiness.

2019 Glacier Challenge Re-Cap

Team ICE Sk8 was on fire at this first competition of the season. The weekend started off strong with BreAnna passing Pre-Juvenile Moves and Kiki passing Pre-Juvenile Moves and Pre Preliminary Free Skate Tests. The both passed with high marks and by all three judges. I could not have asked these athletes to skate any better. Every skater from Natalie our youngest to Kiki our highest level skater moved up levels and skated beautifully. We had two skaters earn gold medals in every event they entered. We finished the weekend off with Kiki earning the Kay Spencer Memorial Judges Choice for Overall Performance – levels Beginner through Preliminary. As a coach it is great to have the validation of good placements and artistry awards. It is proof that I am providing my skaters with the skills they need to be successful competitors. I came back from this event feeling so proud, so inspired, and motivated to help these skaters reach their next set of goals. I loved coming back into the rink and hearing that Natalie, Madilyn, and Maddison all want early morning lessons and to skate more.
